Trip to the G-Space Station @ Fox Theater

Gspace ushered in the spooky season with an evening of experimental bass and flawless vitality. Gspace performed in Boulder on October 1st at the Fox Theater. Gspace (Grady) was in the front of the Fox Theater when I arrived, chatting with fans, taking pictures, and handing out merchandise.

His desire to interact with his fans made the show seem much more personal. He was incredibly friendly and invested a lot of time in getting to know each of his followers. His humility is clear, and the time he spends to interact with his fans demonstrates how grateful he is for their support of his music.

The twin duo BWRZ provided the night's opening act and were a wonderful way to kick off a bass-heavy evening. They brought the energy to the crowd starting off. In direct support of Gspace was Don Jamal.

He is incredibly talented and obviously passionate about making music. He mixed original songs, songs to get the crowd going, and some never-before-heard IDs from prominent deep dub artists, capping off his set with an ID from sumthin sumthin. He drew a sizable audience inside and got everyone pumped for Gspace's performance.

His distinctive sound, which spanned several genres, filled Gspace’s set. Piano keys combined with deep bass have a major influence on his work. Many of his songs, including one of my faves, Rock Bottom, which combines piano, bass, and some bass house beats, were included in his set. His outstanding performance included experimental bass, funk, jazz, and bass house. Since he spent time talking to his audience before starting his set, the atmosphere of the performance was considerably more personal. There was no visual setup, but Gspace still energized the audience without it. He even did an actual flip on stage during his set, which made the audience go wild. Overall an amazing performance, I felt so lucky to experience it.
